Slide Seminars at ECP 2024

You are a Chair/Co-Chair or a Speaker in an ECP 2024 Slide Seminar? 
Please make sure to read the following information carefully. 
 

Instructions for Chairs/Co-Chairs and Presenters

Case presenters are requested to contact the ESP Education Manager, Dr. Christos Poulios at c.poulios@esp-pathology.org to arrange for the transfer and upload of their slides. The deadline to do so is 16 August 2024.

It is the responsibility of the Chair/Co-Chair to encourage the case presenters to submit all mandatory items before the deadline.
 

Each case will contain the following items:

  1. Macrophotograph (photograph of gross specimen)*  – optional
  2. Haematoxylin-eosin slidea virtual slide filemandatory
  3. Special stain(s) and IHC* – optional
  4. A Word document that includes
    a) the case history to be shared in advance of the seminar
    b) the diagnosis to be disclosed only after the seminar
    c) the topography of the specimen (e.g. liver, colon, skin etc)
    d) any additional information that will be necessary for properly archiving this case (e.g. if there are two samples from different organs or pre- and post-surgery biopsy etc)

  5. Handout in pdf format to be shared after the seminar (free text - including additional clinical history, description of the findings, results of specific further investigations, discussion, max. 10 references). – mandatory 
  6. PowerPoint presentation (max. 50 MB)

*Each image file must be named in a specific format: 
Slide seminar code_surname of speaker_type of image/stain

If there is more than 1 slide with the same stain, the slides should be numbered accordingly (e.g. SS-03_Peters_HE_2). If the same speaker presents more than 1 case in the same seminar a case number should be added in the file name (e.g. SS-03_Peters_case_2_HE_1).

Cases not following the above instructions will not be accepted.

Submission information

Items 1-5 should be submitted to the ESP Education Manager, Dr Christos Poulios (c.poulios@esp-pathology.org) by 16 August 2024.

Item 6 needs to be uploaded via a dedicated link. You will receive an invitation for the upload in early August. The deadline for submission is 31 August 2024. 

Items 4 and 5 will be made available to delegates soon after the session has taken place.

All submitted slides will be included in the online programme of the congress and will be available to browse for all delegates prior to the meeting in September.
